Dungeoncrafter 3

DungeonCrafter 3 is a small tool to create own castles, wilderness areas, rooms and - as the name - dungeons. It is simple to use but it takes in my opinion too long to create a full rpg scenario or an entire dungeon. But optically for single rooms it is possible I think.

Unfortunately no random/automatic function as well.

AutoRealm

AutoRealm is an extremely complex tool to create almost everything (landscapes, castles, etc.). Unfortunately it has no random generator and needs in case of the complexity much time to learn it. Nothing for those who need a map quickly.

The files have a date on sourceforge from the year 2006 so I am not sure if it is still in development. The original website is down as it seems so I think sourceforge has a mirror of it here.

RPG Stadtplan Generator

The "RPG Stadtplan Generator" is a german tool to create cities within seconds. Unfortunately the only language supported is german. With larger cities it has some problems (houses standing inside each other, too many roads too close together, etc.). But for smaller villages it is perhaps usable.

The original homepage is offline as it seems (is is linked with referrer to a browser game called "Wurzel Imperium" (Browsergame).

Tavern Maker

The first tool which I have found is the Tavern Maker. The tool itself is freeware and creates random taverns including a description for (A)DnD related systems. Parently in testing is the City Maker.

Package comes with Tabern- and City Maker. Languages are german and english.

Hi there,

I am playing several role playing games since several years (mostly old AD&D 2nd edition) and Star Wars (D6, "old" system).

For longer time I've been searching for tools which support the Game Master and/or the players. But those tools are rather rare. So I think I will start to collect demo copies and freeware programs which can help to play these pen & paper role playing games.

Most of the files are (will be) stored at rapidshare.

What you will not find here are copies of commecial products. Only the shareware, freeware or those which are free downloadable from the copyright owner can be viewed.
